Examples of the weekend trips
Granada
230 kms from Seville is a fascinating city to dedicate a weekend visit. It is the world capital of Islamic art. The Alhambra is the best example of Islamic architecture in Spain. It is also the birth place of Spain's most famous poet Garcia Lorca. The view of The Alhambra palace with the backdrop of the snowy mountains of Sierra Nevada is a breath-taking experience.
Cordoba
150 kms from Seville Cordoba was founded by the Romans but eventually became the capital of Islamic Spain. Not many know that in the 11th century it was one of the most important capitals in Europe. People of many different cultures and religions - Jews, Muslims and Christians - were living peacefully together, and important philosophers, scientists and artists emerged from here.
Mountain trekking
On the "Ruta de los Pueblos Blancos" (route of the White Towns): Ronda and Grazalema. We are proud to lead you through this amazing nature reserve just 100 kms from Seville. Beautifully preserved little white "pueblos" alongside mountains overlooking the coast of Cadiz. An opportunity to taste Spain's southern cooking and wines as well.
A day on the beach
Enjoy the unspoiled beaches of Cadiz and southern Portugal, just one hour and a half from Seville. We leave Seville Saturday morning around 9.00 and get back in the evening. Teachers and students share a day of swimming, relaxing or water sports if you prefer. We recommend Bolonia, Caños de Meca, Conil and Sanlucar on the near coast of Cadiz or the Ihle de Tavira in Portugal.
Weekend in Morocco
If you are in Seville you should not miss visiting northern Africa, just a three hour trip from Seville, by bus and ferry. Once each term, the school sponsors a long weekend trip to Morocco for low budgets. We visit Tangier, Ashila and the ancient city of Fes.
Get to know Madrid and the Prado Museum
Madrid is just 2 h and 20 mins from Seville by train. You should not miss the opportunity to see other towns full of history in central Spain: Toledo, Avila and Madrid.
San Fermines in Pamplona
Once a year we organize a trip to Pamplona in July, for the famous bull festival, in the north of Spain. An opportunity to compare the culture and gastronomy of Navarra with southern Spain.
